Anaga Rural Park (Parque Rural de Anaga)
Anaga Rural Park is one of the most untouched and wild areas of Tenerife, located in the northeastern part of the island. This region is famous for its dense laurel forests, breathtaking mountain views, and extensive hiking trails leading through rugged cliffs, deep ravines, and remote villages.
One of the park’s highlights is the village of Taganana, one of the oldest settlements in Tenerife. It’s a great place to experience traditional Canarian life and try fresh seafood dishes with mojo sauce.
Anaga is also known for its scenic viewpoints. Mirador de Cruz del Carmen is one of the most famous, offering spectacular panoramic views of the lush forests and La Laguna.
Due to its special microclimate, Anaga is home to some of the last remaining Laurisilva forests, a type of prehistoric vegetation that once covered much of Europe millions of years ago. Whether you’re an experienced hiker or a nature lover looking for a peaceful escape, Anaga is the perfect destination for exploring Tenerife’s wild beauty.
